Chowder

Chowder was born on Nov. 6th, 2009.  He's has had
an up and down life since we've known him.  He came
to us a week before Christmas.  He was a sick little
boy.  He spent several days in the hospital and we
prayed he would make it.  He did, and boy - did he
make a come back!  He was totally a different dog the
day we brought him home.  He was getting strong,
then we noticed that his legs were wobbly and kind of
growing funny.  His tendons were weak. We took him
to a specialist and he said give him time and he'll be
fine. Well, he's fine now and doing wonderfully.

He's a very sweet little boy and he loves his two
girlfriends. I have a Jack Russell and another English
Setter that we rescued over a year ago. My English
Setter, Sunny, babied him after she was done being
afraid of him. They wrestle all the time.  My Jack
Russell, Honey,  has been teaching him doggie
manners.  She'll growl at him more, therefore, he
respects her (she's queen bee).  They also play, but
not as often as he does with Sunny.

He's pretty much a lap dog right now, my daughter
has been taking care of him and cleaning up after him.
He usually potties outside, but he doesn't know quite
know how to tell you that he wants to go out yet.
He'll take his naps on her while she's doing her
homework.  I know this is not going to last very long
because he's growing like a weed.  I think he's 11.5
pounds now.  I've been keeping his shots up to date
and spoiling him.  He hates to get into trouble, he just
gives you those eyes like he's so sorry. He is a great
little guy, we will surely miss him.
