Shelby

Shelby is one of four 6 month old setter siblings that
were left at a shelter in Georgia when their breeder
decided that they either "wouldn't hunt", or were
not of "show quality".

I have fostered several puppies and dogs from this
breeder's line and I have always been impressed with
their personalities and intelligence. They tend to have
shorter coats and feathering as well.

Shelby is the only female of the four siblings. She is tri
color with a decent amount of flecking on her coat.
She is a good girl and appears to be potty trained.
She also crates overnight or when I am not at home.
Shelby enjoys being outside. Shelby is a dominant
female and is protective of her food and toys. She will
need to be the alpha girl, or only pup,  in her forever
home

She rode well in the crate on the way home from the
kennel and just went to sleep for the ride. She
started leash training while in the boarding facility,
but I have not yet had her out for a walk on leash.

Being an inquisitive, busy and bright young girl
means she does get into some mischief at times! She
has not been destructive in my home and enjoys
having toys to chew on.

Shelby is a medium energy level setter and will do
well in a home with active people. Aside from her
being possessive of her food an toys she does pretty
well with the dogs in my home who are male and
female and who range in age from his siblings to a
senior. She is fine with both men and women and
would probably be better in a home with slightly
older children just because she is a puppy and is
stilling learning about boundaries.

An obedience class would probably be useful to
Shelby in bonding with her new family. She would  be
safest in a fenced yard.

From what I have seen of the previous puppies/dogs
from this breeder's kennels you will not go wrong in
being Shelby's loving forever home!

Shelby is in foster care in Marietta, GA.
