NC Gage

Gage is a 4  year old neutered male Orange Belton field
setter.  He was an owner turn-in to a kill shelter because his
owner thought he was too old to hunt.  Gage had
heartworms which have been treated.  He has had all his
vaccinations so he is healthy and ready to be adopted.  Gage
is housebroken and crate trained.  He is fine around children
of all ages, and there is a 3.5 year old in his foster home
now.  Gage likes to play with children and likes them to pet
and cuddle him.  Gage is very affectionate with everyone,
and he loves to be petted.  Gage does great with other
dogs, both male and female.  We do not think he would be
good with cats.
Gage has good house manners, but
sometimes he will chew on his foster
brother's toys if they are left on the floor.
Gage listens well to "no", and he knows a
few commands such as "sit".  Gage is lively,
but he will calm down in the house and
likes to snooze on his pillow in the den
while his foster family watches tv.  Gage
would make a great addition to any family.
Gage likes to go for walks, and he loves to look for squirrels
and other furry creatures on his walks and in the yard.  He
also likes to look for birds.  He likes to run around the
backyard and will need a fenced back yard.  He would do
fine in a 6 ft. fenced yard or in an invisible fence.  We think
that he would get out of a regular chain link type fence.  Or
he would stay in a chain link/invisible fence combination.
Gage loves to go for walks and be near
his people. He also loves to eat and will
"rooooo" for his breakfast and dinner.
Gage is great with children of all ages and
all other dogs. He is very interested in
cats at the vet's office so we think he
should go to a home without cats. Gage
has good house manners, and he sleeps
quietly in the bedroom with his foster
parents at night. Gage is just a great dog.
As you can see in his recent photos, Gage
is ready for summer activities!!
