Mike

Mike is a 3-1/2 year old neutered male that is up to
date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Mike was
surrendered to the Mayfield/Graves County Animal
Shelter in Kentucky.  There was no explanation given
for why he was turned in to the shelter but it is likely
due to a lack of a hunting ability.   Mike is lucky.  Many
dogs from this area that don’t work out as hunters
are shot and killed.

Mike is a little bashful but eager to please.  He was
overjoyed to be allowed to live indoors.  While his
household manners are not the very best, he is
learning quickly and is expected to be fully
housebroken in no time.  We are crate training for
bedtime and Mike is getting used it.  The first night he
was not happy at all, but by night three he never
made a peep.

He is one of the calmest dogs that I have ever
fostered, content to lie down on a rug and relax
when it is not mealtime (but he is not food
aggressive).  In fact, he is one of the only setters that
I can say might be a good apartment dog as long as
he gets frequent walking.

I have only had him a few days and my opinion may
change as time goes on and he becomes more
accustomed to our schedule.  He is wonderful with
other dogs, my 3 year old son, and cats.  He is just a
great boy that needs someone to give him a
permanent home where he receives lots of love.
