Max (Moe)

Hi my name is Max (Moe) and I'm a 2 year old male English
Setter.  At first glance I look like a blue boy, but if you look
closely you'll notice the pretty tan speckles on my face and
my little tan "eyebrows".   I'm full grown and I'll always be a
tiny boy -- 30 pounds and about 18 inches tall at the
shoulders.  In fact, I look an awful lot like a puppy, from my
petite stature to my adorable pretty face and facial
expressions.

What I lack in size I make up for in my big sweet personality,
that's for sure.  I have a good amount of energy and like to
romp and investigate things.  I like to be in on the action and
I'm very attentive to my people.  I'm the first to respond
when I hear Daddy at the door, and I like to be wherever you
are.
I'm also very smart.  I learned "sit" and "off" almost immediately, and I'm still learning "lay down",
though I will do it when Mommy points to the floor.  I'm not so good with "leave it" because I never want
to leave it -- I want to either eat it or play with it -- but Mommy has never had a problem with taking
things from me that I shouldn't have (like tissues and paper).  Sometimes when Mommy tries to take a
tissue from me, I think that she's playing a game and try to scramble away.  I like to play games!  I'm not
at all good at fetch - hey, I'm a setter, not a retriever!  I will definitely chase something if you throw it, but
forget me bringing it back to you!  I'll probably carry it around with me and hope you chase after me and
try to get it back.

My Daddy thinks I'd be good at agility trials because of how smart, responsive, athletic, and quick I am.
For example, I can leap up onto my Mommy and Daddy's bed with a single bound and without a running
start, unlike my bigger foster brother.

I do not want to attack cats, but I do like to snuffle them.  I think I could get used to having a cat
around.  I haven't been kid-tested.  My foster Mommy thinks I would be good with children because I'm a
sweet boy and love everyone, but would definitely try to steal food away from little ones with goodies.

I get along really well with my foster brother, a 55 pound English Setter.  We spend the day together in
the kitchen while my foster folks are at work. We're very well behaved and don't get into any trouble
while they're gone.  I hate going into the crate and sometimes I cry at first when I'm in there.  When I'm
in the crate, I do settle down, but I'm very glad to get out.  I think it's mostly because my foster brother
is not in a crate, and I'd much rather hang out with him than be in a crate all by myself!

I had a couple of marking accidents only during the first week, but I think it was due to adjusting to my
new foster home and because I hadn't been neutered yet.  But since then, and even before I was
neutered, I've been very good with no accidents.

I'm not a velcro dog, but I do really prefer to be in the same room with you. Everyone agrees that I'm an
all around happy little guy.  I wag my tail an awful lot, and with great enthusiasm!  I cuddle very nicely
and just LOVE to be petted.

Won't you please find a tiny little space in your heart for me?  I will certainly fill your life and your home
with LOTS AND LOTS of warmth, laughter, joy and love in return!!!
