My name is Maggie, and I am a 5
year- old VERY sweet special-
needs girl who is looking for a
home where someone will spoil
me! Since I am deaf and cannot
hear my commands, nor passing
cars, I need to be leash walked
only. I can never be let off of a
leash because I will run, but
would love a fenced-in yard! I
communicate very well with
American sign language; I have
even learned to look for my
humans when the lights are
flashed. I love to sit and give
paw, and will do anything for your
affection, and of course, treats!! I
am very food oriented and love
treats!
I currently live with another
English Setter, 2 cats, and a

toddler. Because I am somewhat afraid of other dogs,
especially those larger than myself, I would be best
placed in a home where I get all of your attention! I
get along well with cats, and love children. As with any
deaf dog, I sometimes startle when sleeping, so would
do best if in a home with older children who know not
to tackle me when I am resting! Although I am not
food aggressive, I sometimes startle when my cat
friends approach me from behind while I am eating.
For this reason, all of my fuzzy pals eat at the same
time everyday so that food does not remain in anyone’
s bowl. With this feeding schedule, there have been no
food- related issues. I share well, and love to play toss
with my toys. I am generally pretty mellow, but have
funny spurts of puppy energy!
I tend not to be a barker. I absolutely love car rides.
At night, I love to cuddle. Although I am crate
trained, I was crate abused as a puppy, so I have not
been kept in crate. I am not destructive, am well potty-
trained, and simply tend to sleep when left alone. I am
looking for someone who will love me, be kind to me,
enjoy my company, and give me lots of belly rubs!
