Hi, my name is Lewis. I am a four year old gorgeous
tricolor male setter. I am neutered and up to date
with vaccinations. I am a medium sized boy of
about 53 pounds. I have the sweetest face with
little freckles on my nose and I have the most silky
beautiful coat.
Sadly, I went into a shelter with my best friend,
Clark, when my mom lost her home, and had to live
in her car. That was the saddest day of my life. I
miss my mom every day and am still confused as to
why this happened. She was very worried about us
and prayed that we would find a wonderful family to
love us both again. Fortunately, A and B sprung us
from the shelter, but we are still waiting patiently for
someone to give us a loving home.
If my handsome good looks aren't enough, just
wait. I am extremely friendly, loving and
affectionate. I take very little time to warm up
to everyone. I definitely prefer being with people
over birds. I am moderately active, but am on
the mellower side. If you stop petting me, I will
paw you gently, so that you don't stop. I love
to roll onto my back and let you rub my belly. I
just crave attention and cannot get enough love.
I am crate trained and possibly housebroken or
close to it. I am very good when crated
although I'd prefer to be by your side.
I play too rough with cats, so no cats please. I
enjoy other dogs, especially my bud, Clark, but
would be happy just to have my own human
again.
I get bored out in a yard all alone and
sometimes I try to find a way out, by digging. I
just want to go explore and I really don't go far
away. Because of this, I may be a perfect
candidate for an invisible fence or walks on leash,
unless you keep me busy in my fenced-in back
yard. My manners are good. but I could always
On a leash, I am pretty good. I don't pull too much, as long as I can just go where you are going. I
ride nicely in a car, although even in the car I love you to pet me and tell me how handsome I am. I
never want you to stop touching me I will be your velcro boy, if you give me a chance.
use more training. I don't jump on people and take food pretty nicely. When I see that you have
snacks, I sit down immediately, because I do love my snacks. I am highly food motivated which makes
it easier to train me. That is one thing that I have, to look forward to, because right now I am in
boarding, waiting for the perfect family to find me. You won't be disappointed, because I promise to
love you forever. I will miss my best buddy, Clark, because we have been through so much together. I
have been like the big confident brother, helping Clark when he is afraid. I act strong for him, but I am
sad and lonely sometimes. Although it will be tough on both of us when we separate, I just want Clark
to find his own wonderful family too. Then I will be happy again....
Thanks for listening to my story
Notes from foster wannabe: Hi, Lewis and Clark are in boarding together right now, but had
been in a foster home, until the foster home chose to stop fostering for our group. I have learned
a lot about these boys while taking them to events and to a picnic. Because I have cats, I cannot
foster these boys, but I just had to add that when they are out at these events, they steal
everyones' hearts, just as they have stolen mine. They warm up to everyone, from babies to
adults.. They are tolerant and seem to actually thrive around crowds and other dogs. After
spending just a few days with these boys, I am totally smitten with both of them. One could not
find dogs with better personalities. We couldn't walk two feet without people crowding around
wanting to meet these boys and of course, being hams, they just ate that attention right up. I
would adopt both boys, if I didn't have cats.....
