These 2 little boys were dropped in the country and left to fend
for themselves. There were found huddled in an abandoned barn
stall hungry, afraid and very confused. After a bath, and nice
comfy place to rest, and a good meal, they soon realized they
were safe at last.
They appear to be a Lab mix, but it’s hard to say, since we have
no knowledge of where they came from. Besides the obvious
slick black coat, there does appear to be “webbing” of the feet,
but I don’t see the appearance of the “Otter tail” (I don’t know
if they are too young for this to appear yet?), but both are
typical characteristics of a Lab. They will probably be a medium
to larger breed as adults. If they are part Lab, they could be
upwards to around 60–75 lbs with big males often reaching 100
lbs (65 to 80 pounds per AKC standards). I’m guessing they are
about 10 to 12 weeks old as of 4/26/08.
Yep...as you have probably
guessed, this is the 'bolder' of the 2
pups. He's always rushing straight
into whatever is going on, and on
the go. Which, makes him harder to
get a picture of. These are the only
4 I was able to get today, before
he took off to get into something
else.
He's the little wiggle worm.... the
more you pet him, the more he
wiggles and dances. He's forever
checking things out, following the
big dogs around, and trying to get
into whatever they are into. He's
also always trying to take things
away from his brother, which
usually instigates an argument
between the 2, with neither
wanting to back down
Black Jack is the quieter of the 2
pups. He is all about getting petted
and will sit as still as he can, as if
he's afraid if he moves you'll stop
petting him. He is a bit more
reserved, but still all puppy, and as
curious as they come. He is also a
bit more observant then his
brother, and will sometimes plop
down and just look around and see
what's going on.
He has a smaller patch of white hair
on his chest, and not as many scars
on his little face.
They are sweet, playful and very smart. They have no
problem letting me know it’s time to go out, and do not
seem to want to soil their crate. They love attention and are
very appreciative of praise and petting.
They both have several scars and scraps. I’m not sure who
or what they got into, but both seem very submissive
toward the older dogs. It seems apparent they have been
taught they are not at the top of the pecking order. Once
they realized our older dogs meant them no harm, they have
begun to follow them around and try playing with them.
Both puppies will be adopted with a Neuter contract.
