Bonnie is a 2 year old Orange Belton. She weighs 42
pounds and is 21 inches at the shoulder.
She was found living around the Okefenokee Swamp
in GA.
Bonnie tested positive for heartworms and
underwent treatment. Bonnie recently was re-tested
for heartworms and is now showing heartworm
negative.
Bonnie is crate trained. She has not bothered our
cats. Bonnie walks OK on a leash in our back yard.
She would prefer to have the run of the yard. She
would like a young fur brother or sister big or small
to romp, run and play with. With Bonnie's energy
level when outside, she would require a home with a
fenced in yard.
Bonnie appears to have been trapped at the door in
her past, she is very cautious when going through
the door. She will bolt when going out and is very
apprehensive when coming back in. We are working
on this. UPDATE March '10: She will sit at the door
when someone is ready to open the door to let her
out. Then she will walk out the door now. She is
getting better at coming in through the door, but
there are still times that she does not like to come
through it.
Bonnie is a love bug, but she is often very shy and
will wait for quiet moments to show that she is a
lover. She enjoys sleeping on our bed. She would do
well in a home that has someone home most all the
time.
Bonnie would like to have a quiet and gentle person
to call her own. She will need time in her new home
to realize that she is loved and is in her furever
home. As you can see from our pictures,
Bonnie is camera shy and did not like her picture
taken inside.
