Meet Aimee, a beautiful and active tri-colored English Setter
that was found as a stray in Florida. Aimee is between 2-3
years old, I believe that she is closer to 2, she is like a puppy
stuck in an adult body. Aimee came into foster care very thin,
she was only 32.4 lbs. She has gain a little but her ideal weight
should be 45 lbs.
Aimee has very long legs; I call her Supermodel or Legs. Let me
tell you, Aimee knows how to use those legs too. She is a very
high energy girl that loves to run and run. Now that spring as
come early in Iowa, Aimee spends as much time as possible
outside running and is an avid bird watcher. She also enjoys
chasing squirrels.

Aimee enjoys playing with her foster siblings and
gets along well with the other Setters in the
house. She has also plays with the Mini
Dachshunds that are on her foster home. Aimee
does have some dominant traits with the other
females in the house so she will need a home
without females. She gets along great with all the
males. As much as she loves her stuffed toys, she
needs to be supervised as she will shred them.
She has not been chewy on things in the house
other than her toys. Aimee really would like to
play with the cats but she is a little rough and will
go so far as to put them in her mouth.

Someone has worked with Aimee as far as basic training but
she will need a touch up course. Aimee has a good
understanding of “sit”, “down” and “leave it”. She likes to
jump up on you, so we are working on “off”, she has gotten
a lot better with that in a very short amount of time. Aimee
is crate trained and knows what the words “kennel up”
mean, we still give her a treat (to help put on weight and just
to make the crate a happy place. Aimee is potty & bell
trained but will need a refresher once she is gets into her new
home, this is common until the newly adopted dog learns her
new schedule and the new family understands her signs.
Aimee loves to go places and rides very well in the car. She
would love a family that has a large secure (fenced) yard to
run and play in. Once Aimee has her energy burned off, she
is ready to cuddle with her foster parents. Aimee doesn’t like
loud voices or a lot of noise. Even though Aimee seems to
love everyone that will pet her, I have had Aimee around a 3
year old human, she stressed with the crying and loud noises
that come with a toddler so I am not sure home with children
under the age of 6 would be good for Aimee. A quiet but
active home without cats would ideal for her.

Aimee is spayed, heartworm negative, and
up-to -date with her vaccines. Aimee is
being fostered in Iowa.
